More Protein, Fewer Fractures?

The study analyzed data from the UK Women’s Cohort, including women aged 35-69 years, over a 15-year period. Significantly, an inverse relationship between protein intake and hip fracture risk was observed. For every 25g per day increase in protein, there was a reduction in hip fracture risk. Even more promisingly, underweight women saw a 45% risk reduction. Interestingly, the source of protein – animal or plant – did not impact the results.
